Moda Warehouse Day Party Review

Continuing their strong 2015, Moda toasted the memory of a festival-well-executed with a day-time warehouse party that ticked all the boxes.

It’s a fairly saturated market, warehouse parties these days, but this one from Jaymo & Andy George, with Bondax, Shadow Child, wAFF & few more in tow was as good as you can hope a party in a big tin building with seemingly eternally wet floors can be (although surprisingly this had dry floors – bizarre, and clearly a niche in the warehouse market…).

Admirable efforts from a warm-up troop including Mixology & District DJs over, Moda label heads Jaymo & George played an hour and a half of the best house you could ever wish to hear, kicking the sunshine out and embracing the darkening daylight. Party time.

Bondax were the main attraction and it was easy to see why. Polished, punctual, rehearsed – the whippersnap duo produced two and a half hours worthy of their peak time slot. Full of melodic pop-house, their set whizzed by and suddenly, as the last modicum of sunlight disappeared, we were in to slightly darker territory with wAFF and then finally, Shadow Child.
Shadow Child had the tricky task of keeping people interested. Once the clock ticks over past 10pm people are invariably thinking of the next party – but there was no such feeling here. A high octane set kept punters interested until the final whistle at 11pm.

Obviously some were keen to move on, continue the night elsewhere. But what was abundantly clear from the dozens of sweaty brows and scuffed trainers exiting the venue was that it was perfectly acceptable to be heading home. This had been a day out and a night out in its own right, and there was a genuine feeling that the only way to go from the heights of Moda’s latest warehouse effort, was down.
