YouTube vs Merlin Network (XL Recordings/Innervisions/Hospital Records)
It's been announced today that YouTube have finally signed their licensing deal with Merlin, who represent the likes of XL Recordings - SBTRKT, FKA Twigs, The xx.
After reports over the summer, that nearly ended up with all artists on labels represented by Merlin being removed from YouTube it's been a rocky road for the discussions. YouTube caved on their threats though after mounting public pressure.
It appears that Google have now signed a suitable agreement with Merlin to licence music from the represented labels, although it's apparently based on the contract that was leaked in June. What do you think?

For the moment we’re saying nothing and moving our cake a bit further away.
