Tomorrowland India?

Tomorrowland, the behemoth festival that has already conquered Belgium, Atlanta and Sao Paulo is now set to expand into India.

Dutch entertainment company ID&T are truly on the ball when it comes to creating large scale events, with their Brazilian Tomorrowland event launching in May 2015 and their Indian event to go live in January; although whether they manage to pull it off for January 2015 remains to be seen as they haven’t quite found a site yet… Goa is the obvious choice for an Indian dance music festival, with the almost legendary psytrance scene over there but as it’s such a small place it might not be feasible for Tomorrowland to pull off one of their large scale events in the area.

While they’ve got the likes of Steve Aoki booked for gigs in Mumbai, Delhi & Bangalore, it appears that ID&T might have to branch out into one of India’s bigger cities to find a site capable of keeping up with the production value of their flagship event in Belgium.

New Indian festival Supersonic has already tapped into the dance market in India with a massive line up consisting of Above & Beyond, Maya Jane Coles, Mark Knight and Paul Van Dyk to name a few. They’ve even pulled in big hitters UKF to curate their bass music stage so this goes to show that the market is there for more than just psytrance in Goa.

With approximately 1 million people registering for Tomorrowland Belgium tickets in 2014,
it’s clear that ID&T have no intention of slowing down, and they really don’t need to...
