Subrockerz - Manchester Halloween takeover!

Subrockerz is the new and fresh sister brand to Random Concept delivering some of the best nights out for drum & bass around the country. Originally from Northampton, Subrockerz have continued to raise the bar on their mind-blowing line-ups, which have included Subfocus, Mistajam, Danny Byrd and more. But it’s not just the show-stopping performances that make the nights worthwhile. Subrockerz offers some of the best visual effects and audio there is, leaving no one disappointed. Whether you’ve experienced their nights before or you are a first timer, Subrockerz will never fail to bring you a night to remember.

In one week’s time, Subrockerz will be appearing at Manchester Academy delivering a massive line-up for the city to enjoy.  This will include Manchester’s favourites, North Base, who earlier this year delivered an electric performance at Albert Hall that got the crowd going wild. But if you missed that then you don’t need to worry because they are back, bigger and better than before bringing some of the best drum & bass to our ears.
The North Base team are releasing a new album, “Sound Violence” on 27th October, so if you haven’t bought it yet or you are waiting for Christmas, it’s certain we will get a glimpse of what the album has to offer on the night. The group has received massive support from some of the biggest artists such as Chase and Status, Skream and MistaJam, making them popular with fans across the world. They will definitely be one to watch.

Also featuring on the night will be Goldie, renowned not just for his gold teeth but for his multi-talent in the jungle and drum & bass genres. Goldie is notorious for his creativity in the music industry so it’s safe to say the king of the jungle will no doubt bring some electrifying music.

Just as it couldn’t get any better, broadcaster, DJ, presenter, creative director and more, MistaJam will also be making an appearance on the night. His multi-genre sounds and his versatility along with huge performances at various festivals like Glastonbury should already be enough to get you excited.
A BBC executive scouted him in 2005, which was Mistajam’s big break in the industry and he now hosts on the radio stations peak time evening shows. His bold approach to delivering the perfect mix of music and his career going from strength to strength, MistaJam’s 2014 performances are becoming hugely exhilarating.

We have also got the pleasure of seeing Danny Byrd performing on the night who is influenced across genres - house, garage, rave, jungle and techno.  Back in 2000, Danny, at the tender age of 21, took a long shot by posting a CD of his music to Hospital Records. His courageousness to do so meant fourteen years later he would release, sixteen singles, three albums and a number one with his track, ‘Red Mist VIP’ in 2009. His latest album released in 2013, ‘Golden Ticket’ moved away from the traditional 174 BPM style drum & bass to explore garage. This was a genre he has been fond of since he was young. He created tracks with a slow tempo and used bumpy garage sounds to create a fantastic mix. The 35 year old has already performed to Newcastle, Belfast and Reading this month so he is warmed up ready to show off some immense talent for Manchester.

Finally, they are a duo that have collaborated with artists such as Danny Byrd and Subfocus and are known as one of the most highly regarded artists in the d&b scene - Brookes Brothers. From London, the two brothers, Dan and Phil, create a distinctive style using a blend of soul and disco to create fresh music for drum & bass. They have released eleven singles, one album and have had a top single, ‘Tear You Down’ that made the UK dance chart top 20 for fifteen weeks. Their self-titled album demonstrates their creative talent that saw the two experiment with dubstep and reggae including tracks like ‘Last Night’ and ‘In Your Eyes.’

This event takes place on Saturday 1st November and is expected to be a sell out. Subrockerz have an epic collection of talent that caters to everyone’s taste so what are you waiting for? Grab your tickets now!
